Week 4 NFL football gambling recap with Jason McIntyre | WHAT DID WE LEARN?
The Bengals checked all the boxes: 2-0 ATS on the road, a divisional matchup against a back-up QB, and a strength (passing game) that lined up nicely with the Steelers 29th ranked DVOA pass defense. And they got pummeled, 27-3.
The Bengals offensive line gave up nine sacks in the first two weeks, but did a much better job against Buffalo (Dalton only sacked twice). Things did not carryover to the matchup with the Steelers, as Dalton was sacked three times alone in the first half, and fumbled once. The Steelers sacked him a total of eight times. The Bengals’ 2.27 yards per pass is the lowest mark by any team in a game this year.
Cincinnati got bullied in the trenches, and this is a team you have to be very careful backing again in the foreseeable future.
