Job Title: Head Corporate Secretariat, Legal & Compliance

Job Descriptions
- Experienced Head, corporate secretariat, legal and compliance to ensure our company adheres to legal standards and in-house polices
- You will be responsible for enforcing established business regulations as well as provide guidance on compliance matters
- To ensure high level of ethical standards and work diligently to complete their duties keeping in mind the objectives of the business
- Must be comfortable saying “NO” when necessary and be result oriented
- Ensure to keep company integrity by making sure it stays on the lawful & ethical course
Responsibilities
- Develop and oversees control system to prevent or deal with violations of legal guidance and internal policies
- Evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve on them continuously
- Revise procedures and reports periodically to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues
- Draft, modify and implement company policies
- Collaborates with corporate counsels and HR department to monitor enforcement of standards and regulations
- Keep abreast of regulatory development within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control
- Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate
Regulatory & Compliance Responsibilities:
- Ensure the company fill out and submits all legal paperwork
- Carry out NCC type Approval Registrations
- Follow up on company intellectual properly
Requirements
- LLB/BL in Law
- Ten (10) years Post call-to Bar experience
- Age: Not more than 40-45 years by the end of December 2019
- Gender: Female (Being a northern an advantage)
- Minimum of Six (6) years cognate experience in corporate affairs and company secretariat duties.
- Proven experience as compliance manager
- In-depth knowledge of the industry standards and regulations
- Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping
- A business acumen partnered with a dedication to legality
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to communicate in Hausa Language (Strong Advantage)
