Supreme Court Dismisses PDM’s Appeal Seeking Cancellation Of Ebonyi Election

 

The Supreme Court has dismissed the appeal of the People’s Democratic Movement (PDM) in Ebonyi State seeking the cancellation of the governorship election.

The political party had earlier approached the court seeking cancellation of the election on the grounds that the PDM governorship candidate was validly nominated but was excluded from the election.

The unanimous judgment delivered by Justice Amina Adamu-Augie on Wednesday upheld the decision of the trial tribunal that the testimonies of their witnesses were filled with half-truths and contradictions.

According to the Apex Court ruling, the failure to prove the same makes the Appeal lack merit.
