Kelly, Rigoni set pace as Quinnipiac rolls past Rider 80-61

HAMDEN, Conn. (AP) — Rich Kelly scored 22 points with eight assists as Quinnipiac beat Rider 80-61 on Tuesday night. Jacob Rigoni added 21 points on 7-of-8 shooting from beyond the 3-point arc.

Seth Pinkney had three blocks to go with seven points for Quinnipiac (7-5, 2-0 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Kevin Marfo added 11 rebounds and six points.

Marfo, ranked No. 1 nationally in rebounds per game (13.5) coming into the contest, continued his streak as the only player in the country to grab 10 or more rebounds in every game he’s played this season.

Dimencio Vaughn scored 18 points and Frederick Scott added 17 with eight rebounds for the Broncs (8-5, 2-1).

Stevie Jordan, the Broncs’ leading scorer coming into the contest at 14 points per game, failed to make a shot from the floor (0 of 6), finishing with two points, four assists and four turnovers.

Quinnipiac plays Niagara at home on Friday. Rider takes on Iona at home on Friday.
