Blues recall Kyrou; Perron close to returning
The Blues are adding depth to their roster after multiple players were banged up in Tuesday’s tilt against the Arizona Coyotes.
The Blues recalled forward Jordan Kyrou from the San Antonio Rampage, the team’s AHL affiliate, on Wednesday. The 20-year-old forward has scored 16 goals and 27 assists in 44 games for the Rampage
The team also announced that forward David Perron, out since mid-January with an upper-body injury, will travel with the Blues on their upcoming three-game road trip.
The relief couldn’t come at a better time for the Blues who got banged up in Tuesday’s 3-1 loss to the Coyotes. Forward Sammy Blais and defenseman Joel Edmundson both left the game with injuries and will not go on the road trip. Forward Brayden Schenn left Tuesday’s game twice with injuries, and forward Oskar Sundqvist also exited briefly, but eventually returned.
The Blues are already without star forward Vladimir Tarasenko, who was scratched before Saturday’s meeting with the San Jose Sharks. He’s expected to be re-evaluated in next week.
They’re also without defenseman Carl Gunnarsson, out since early February with an upper-body injury.
