What You Can Expect
Strategic partner to the Country Manager, and responsible for the provision of financial and strategic guidance to the Country Manager. Responsible for adherence to and compliance with company guidelines and procedures, and compliance with country legal regulations. Core responsibilities will include inter alia:
- Responsible for General Office management (Managing BASF corporate e-mail amongst others)
- Support local compliance with BASF processes across BASF entities in West Africa
- Petty cash administration
- Ownership of credit card claims process
- Forex Application Administration
- Trouble-shooting vendor related issues
- Document /Contract management for all BASF entities in West Africa
- Review of invoices received to ensure validity. i.e. relevant approvals and correct details
- Ensuring that supplier invoices are timely processed
- Support with month end closing.
- Ensuring compliance to company guidelines, policies and procedures while also adaptable to changes
- Submission and filing of tax returns
- Liaise with Treasury on bank recons and clearing.
- Support finalization of the month end reporting.
- Ensuring that adequate internal controls are implemented across processes
- Local ownership of Fixed Asset process
- Active involvement and liaison with internal and external auditors
- Liaise with FIRS and LIRS
- Responsible for monitoring of accruals
- Ad hoc projects
- And any other finance related functions.
What We Expect
- University degree in any relevant Discipline , Chartered Accountant (ACCA/ACA)
- Minimum 3 – 5 years practical experience in a similar management position
- Fluent in English
- Proficient in SAP and MS Office.
