Police Arrest Three Suspects After Shootout In Ikorodu – Channels Television

The police have arrested three persons following a gunfight with suspected cultists in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.

The Lagos State Police Command disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday by its spokesman, Mr Bala Elkana.

The shootout took place on Monday when a team of police personnel raided a den of the suspects believed to be specialised in ritual murder and kidnapping for ritual purposes at Adama community.

The suspects were said to have opened fire on sighting the security operatives and used some of their hostages as shield.

Two policemen were injured while a teenager was hit by a stray bullet during the incident which lasted about one hour.

Elkana revealed that other members of the gang made an attempt to attack a police station at Imota community, also in Ikorodu.

According to him, the attack was repelled by officers on duty while effort is ongoing to investigate the matter.

Police Repelled attack on Police Station and arrested Three Suspects

On 18/03/2019 at about 1730hrs following a tip-off, a team of Policemen on surveillance at Adama community, Ikorodu raided a den of cultists who specialize in ritual murder and kidnapping for ritual purposes. On sighting the Police, they opened fire and equally use some of their hostages as human shields.

During the operation that lasted for about one hour, two Police Officers were injured and three suspects were arrested namely, Ahmed Hassan, Daniel Enyin and Olaniran Alium. One Hadiyat Sikiru f 18yrs, an SS1 Student was hit by a stray bullet.

Attempt by other members of the deadly gang to attack our Police Station at Imota was met with stiff resistance by the gallant officers on duty.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Zubairu Muazu mni has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in Charge of Criminal Investigation, Panti to take over the case for in-depth investigation
