Cardinals’ new schedule brings doubleheaders to make up for postponements
The St. Louis Cardinals have some making up to do.
Major League Baseball released a revised 2020 schedule after the postponement of games that came after several members of the teams tested positive for COVID-19. With the new additions to the schedule, all previously postponed games are scheduled to be completed before the end of the season.
The Cardinals’ home-and-home series with the Detroit Tigers has been rescheduled as two doubleheaders. The first doubleheader will take place at Comerica Park on Thursday, Aug. 13. The first game will begin at 12:10 p.m. CST.
The second doubleheader will be played on Thursday, Sept. 1o, at Busch Stadium. The first pitch of Game 1 of that doubleheader will be at 12:10 p.m. CST.
The Cardinals were originally set to play the Chicago White Sox in the Field of Dreams game on Thursday, Aug. 13. Instead, that game will be moved to Aug. 14 and played at Guaranteed Rate Field. First pitch will be at 7:10 p.m. CST.
The series between the Cardinals and Brewers that was originally slated for July 31-Aug. 2 has been rescheduled as part of three doubleheaders. The doubleheaders will now be played instead of the originally scheduled single-game meetings between the two teams on Monday, Sept. 14 and Wednesday, Sept. 16 at Miller Park, and Friday, Sept. 25 at Busch Stadium. The Brewers will be the home team for Game 1 of the doubleheader at Busch.
