Twins’ prized free-agent acquisition Donaldson lands on 10-day IL
The Minnesota Twins placed third baseman Josh Donaldson on the 10-day injured list with a right calf strain on Friday.

The move is retroactive to Aug. 4.
Donaldson, who signed a franchise-record four-year deal worth $92 million in the offseason, suffered the injury during the second inning of Minnesota’s 4-1 win over Cleveland on July 31. Donaldson exited the game and hasn’t played since.
The “Bringer of Rain” is batting .182 (4 for 27) with one homer and two RBI in seven games this season.
Ehire Adrianza and Marwin Gonzalez have filled in at third base during Donaldson’s absence.
