Brewers activate Braun off injured list, option Mathias
The Milwaukee Brewers’ offense is getting a lift.

On Tuesday, the team activated Ryan Braun from the 10-day injured list. Braun was placed on the IL on Aug. 2 retroactive to July 30 due to an infected right index finger.
Braun has played in four games this season, all at designated hitter, and is 3-for-13. In 2019, Braun batted .295 with 22 home runs in 508 plate appearances.
To make room on the roster, infielder/outfielder Mark Mathias was optioned to the Brewers’ alternate site. The 25-year-old Mathias made his major-league debut on Aug. 4 and is 5-for-16.
The Brewers host the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday at 7 p.m. with Brewers Live starting at 6:30 p.m.
