The Royals reportedly received two prospects in the deal.
Rosenthal recorded seven saves over 13.2 innings, compiling a 3.29 ERA with Kansas City this season.
Teams have until 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31 to trade before the deadline passes this season.
