A day after Barr was placed on injured reserve with a torn pectoral muscle, the Vikings signed linebacker Hardy Nickerson Jr. off their practice squad.
Nickerson signed with Minnesota in August after spending his first three NFL seasons with Cincinnati, which brought him aboard as an undrafted free agent.
Nickerson was signed to the Vikings’ practice squad and was elevated for the team’s season opener against Green Bay.
With the Bengals, Nickerson appeared in 37 games, recording 77 tackles. He had a career-high 54 tackles in 2018.
