Colorado Rapids positive COVID tests force postponement of Sporting KC match

For the first time since Sporting Kansas City‘s season was relaunched in Florida and then back at home stadiums, one of its matches has been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Sporting KC‘s match scheduled for Sunday evening at the Colorado Rapids has been postponed. A rescheduled date has not yet been set.

The postponement is a result of confirmed positive COVID-19 tests  for four members of the Rapids organization — one player and three staff members. The tests were conducted on Thursday and Friday, and the match was postponed to allow for additional testing and evaluation.

Sporting KC’s next match is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Houston Dynamo.
