Red Wings pick Swedish forward Lucas Raymond fourth overall (WITH VIDEOS)
The Detroit Red Wings, who were bumped to the fourth spot despite finishing with the league’s worst record, drafted 18-year-old Swedish forward Lucas Raymond.
Raymond, a 5-foot-10, 165-pound winger, is playing for Frolunda in the Swedish Elite League, where he has one goal and one assist in four games.
He’s consistently been one of the top five to 10 picks in most draft projections from the start of the season.
A little over an hour before the draft, the Red Wings announced general manager Steve Yzerman had to self-isolate in overseeing the draft separate from his staff after coming into contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19.
