Guerin traded forward Luke Kunin and a fourth-round pick (No. 101 overall) to Nashville on Wednesday in exchange for forward Nick Bonino, a second-round pick (No. 37) and a third-round pick (No. 70).
Bonino is entering the final year of his contract in 2020-21. The 32-year-old center tallied 18 goals and 17 assists (35 points) for Nashville last year. Bonino played two years in Pittsburgh (2015-17) when Guerin was in the Penguins’ front office.
Kunin, selected in the first round in 2016, played 131 games for the Wild over the last three seasons. In 2019-20, Kunin appeared in 63 contests and registered 15 goals and 16 assists (31 points).
Minnesota now has six picks for the final six rounds of the 2020 draft — two second-round picks (No. 37, No. 39), a third-round pick (No. 70), and one pick each in the fifth (No. 132), sixth (No. 163) and seventh (No. 194) rounds.
