Country Manager at OnePort 365
OnePort 365 is the digital solution that is creating a radical change in the role of Africa in global trade. We are pioneering the concept of digital freight forwarding in Africa with our mix of innovation using technology and infrastructure to optimize supply chain profitability, efficiency, accountability and reliability. We are a lean and successful business based in Lagos, with an ambitious growth target & plan to develop our network by opening offices in key markets in the coming years.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Country Manager
Location: Marina, Lagos
Reports To: C.E.O / Founder
Contractual Status: Full time
Span of Control: Nigeria (Across The Country)
Role Summary
- The role demands a fast forward thinker who will drive operational excellence across the country. You are required to scale the business exponentially month on month.
- Being the country manager, it is expected that through excellent leadership you synergise all departments to produce optimal function into achieving our mission and vision.
Stakeholders:
- Internal: You will oversee and work closely to achieve the one port vision and mission statement with ALL departments
- External: Government agencies, Clients
Duties and Responsibilities
Lagos / Kano / Onne (Operations):
- Ensure team leads in Lagos are fully inline with operations at origin(warehouse) or exit ports across Nigeria
- Ensure processes are in place in accordance with set out SOPs for all transactions
- Ensure continuous “process improvement across all transactions as we scale volume
- Ensure budgets and funding is made available upon request for all company transactions
- Ensure all regulator permits are available
- Delegate and designate as at when required
- Monthly appraisal with operations team lead and review of performance.
Lagos / Kano / Onne (Sales):
- Performance (Quarterly / Monthly / Weekly) review of the sales team in regards to targets
- Support during clients discussions in ensuring we scale across board (cross sell & upsell services)
- Ensure continuous ‘process improvement’ across all transactions as we scale volume
- Ensure budgets and funding is made available upon request for all company transactions
- Ensure we spread across Nigeria (Northern/South West in particular) in regards to onboarding new clients
- Ensuring Sales and Operations teams are in aligned in regards to “service delivery
- Support with client leads when and where possible
- Monthly catch up meetings/reviews with clients
Lagos (Marketing):
- Ensure the marketing lead is supported in regards to service delivery
- Engage in media discussions with media houses in regards to how OnePort 365 is scaling on digital freight forwarding across Africa
- Approving appropriate publicity budgets
- Supporting in strategy implementation and execution as at when needed
Lagos (Finance):
- Review monthly capital expenditure as drafted by the finance team
- Approve financial request as at when presented by finance team in regards to transactions
- Ensuring, our bottom line is fully protected to avoid a cash run or inability to honour
Lagos (Technology):
- Liaise with the acting CTO in regards to tech deployment for the organization
- Ensure the OnePort 365 platform and tech solutions are deployed to meet clients request
- Ensure clients are adequately onboarded unto utilising the platform as against booking manually
- Ensure across the organization in house, tech is at the fore-front of our service
Lagos (Product):
- Ensure the digital Online Platform continues to meet customer demands and provides a seamless experience; this will require you to liaise with the product department regularly.
Abuja (Regulators):
- Ensure OnePort 365 is in compliance with the regulations of the FRN
- Ensure regulators (such as Nigerian Customs Service, NAFDAC) are kept up to date and inclined towards our operations
- Ensure regulations go our way at the highest level possible
- Ensure we’re inline with regulators at all levels across various commands in Nigeria
- Work with the government liaison officer to ensure OnePort 365 remains “top of mind.
Lagos (Process Improvement):
- Process improvement is a continuous process. For every operation we get involved with, processes must continuously improve upon the last transaction.
Lagos (Human Resources):
- Ensure overall team performance meets expectations
Lagos (Administration):
- Approve admin budgets
- Oversee the entire business administration process.
Reporting:
- Provide regular monthly. Quarterly report to the CEO/Founder
Key Performance Indicators:
- Growth and Expansion (Monthly, Quarterly Annually)
- Financial Management: Maintaining Good financial health to deliver optimum service to clients
- Operational Excellence in terms of total support to departments.
Qualifications
- Degree Holder, Postgraduate qualification
- Certifications in supply chain and logistics is an advantage.
- Years of Experience:
- 8-10 years experience
Knowledge:
- Must have good holistic knowledge on the freight forwarding industry.
- Excellent Understanding of the operational process/ challenges and solutions of freight forwarding in Nigeria
- Excellent general know-how on business management.
