Blues re-sign Jake Walman to two-year deal
ST. LOUIS — The Blues made a move to preserve some of their defensive depth on Thursday, re-signing restricted free agent defenseman Jake Walman to a two-year deal. The 24-year-old defenseman will have a two-way deal in 2020-21, but it will convert to a one-way contract in 2021-22.
Walman played in one NHL game last season, making his debut on Jan. 4, 2020, recording a plus-1 rating in 11:04 of ice time against the Golden Knights. When the season restarted, the Providence College alum also accompanied the Blues to the Western Conference bubble in Edmonton, Alberta.
Walman has spent the majority of the last two seasons with the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League. In 123 regular-season games with San Antonio, he posted 11 goals and 29 assists (40 points). Prior to joining the Rampage, Walman also dressed for the AHL’s Chicago Wolves and Binghamton Devils.
