Remembering Stan the Man on his 100th birthday

Stan Musial, who would become the greatest Cardinal of them all, was born 100 years ago, on Nov. 21, 1920.

Undisputably, Musial was baseball royalty. He collected 3,630 hits while batting .331 over 22 seasons, every one of them for the Cardinals, was a 24-time All-Star and three-time National League MVP, won three World Series and became a first-ballot Hall of Famer.

Even more, he was the ultimate gentleman, a fan favorite at a level unlikely ever to be matched in St. Louis.

On this day, which will include a drive-by birthday celebration at Busch Stadium, several of FOX Sports Midwest’s analysts share their personal perspectives on the greatness of Stan the Man.
