2021 Cards Winter Warm-Up to go virtual; Cardinals Caravan trips canceled
The COVID-19 pandemic can’t stop Cardinals Winter Warm-Up.
The 2021 event — the 25th annual, for those keeping score — will go on, but not in person. For public health reasons, it will be a virtual experience this time around.
Cardinals Winter Warm-Up, the largest fundraising event for Cardinals Care, the club’s charitable foundation, will take place Jan. 16-18, 2021. Proceeds will support local kids.
The 2021 Cardinals Caravan, however, which typically motors around the Midwest in conjunction with Winter Warm-Up, has been canceled.
“We are disappointed that we had to cancel the in-person events of the annual Winter Warm-Up and Cardinals Caravan, but we are excited that we are still able to deliver some fun and interactive online experiences, while keeping the health and safety of our fans, volunteers, players and employees our top priority,” said Michael Hall, executive director of Cardinals Care and vice president of community relations. “The COVID-19 pandemic hasn’t canceled our mission of supporting children in our community, so we’re shifting the event to an online format where fans can safely get autographed items from their favorite players and alumni, win raffles, bid on exclusive auction items, hear from front office leadership and interact with their favorite Cardinals.”
The Winter Warm-Up 50/50 raffle will open at 9 a.m. on Nov. 27 and run until Jan. 18. Fans can pre-order autographed memorabilia from Dec. 4-24. Silent auctions will be held Jan. 16 and 17 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Jan. 18 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
