FOX Sports Sun announces Miami Heat television schedule for start of 2020-21 season
MIAMI (Dec. 9, 2020) – FOX Sports Sun announced today the network will tip-off its 28th season as the television home for the Miami HEAT with plans to produce and televise thirty four regular season games as part of the first half of the 2020-21 NBA season. FOX Sports Sun will also provide HEAT fans with a first look at the team as the exclusive TV home for both preseason games vs. the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday, Dec. 14 and Friday, Dec. 18 vs. the Toronto Raptors.
Opening night coverage will start at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 23 with a special, hour-long “HEAT Live” pregame show ahead of Miami’s regular season opener vs. the Orlando Magic. FOX Sports Sun will televise the HEAT’s home opener on Christmas Day vs. the Pelicans with live coverage beginning at 11:30 a.m. from AmericanAirlines Arena. All broadcasts throughout the season will feature half-hour “HEAT Live” pregame shows along with extended postgame coverage from site.
Play-by-play announcer Eric Reid returns for his 33rd season as the voice of the HEAT, while former HEAT point guard John Crotty returns as color analyst to provide viewers with expert commentary throughout the season. This season marks three years calling games together for the Reid-Crotty pairing. Jason Jackson will be back for his 17th season serving as host of “HEAT Live” and courtside reporter. 2019 Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame Inductee Ruth-Riley Hunter and former HEAT Head Coach Ron Rothstein will also return for their third and seventh seasons as pregame, postgame and halftime analysts. Kristen Hewitt and Will Manso round out the broadcast team as reporters for select games.
AmericanAirlines Arena will serve as FOX Sports Sun’s remote broadcast hub for road games with Reid, Crotty and co. calling away games remotely to start the season. “HEAT Live” will also originate from AmericanAirlines Arena for home and away games.
The popular “Inside the HEAT series returns and will feature player profiles and episodes offering behind-the-scenes access to other aspects of the team and its operations — all designed to bring the fans closer to their favorite team. Episodes will be announced ahead of their premiere dates.
Every HEAT game televised on FOX Sports Sun will be available once again on FOX Sports GO, the live streaming platform that showcases all of the Sinclair Regional Sports Networks’ events and studio programming through pay-TV providers.
