Get to know new Milwaukee Bucks guard Bryn Forbes
As the Milwaukee Bucks looked to add to their roster makeover this offseason, they dipped into the waters of one of head coach Mike Budenholzer’s mentors, signing free agent Bryn Forbes, who played for Greg Popovich in San Antonio the past four seasons.
The 6-foot-2 Forbes is a pure shooter, but his path to the NBA wasn’t a usual one.
Let’s learn more about one of Milwaukee’s newest pieces to the puzzle.

COLLEGE
Forbes wasn’t highly recruited out of Sexton High School in Lansing, Mich., unlike two of his teammates Anthony Clemmons, who went to Iowa, and Denzel Valentine, who stayed in town and attended Michigan State. He went to mid-major Cleveland State, where he averaged 12.7 points and 15.6 points his first two seasons before transferring and joining Valentine on the Spartans.
After averaging just 8.5 points as a junior, Forbes increased that to 14.4 points as a senior, making 48.1% of his 3-point attempts.
PRO CAREER
After going undrafted, Forbes signed with San Antonio.
His rookie year he bounced back between the Spurs and the G League, but he became a staple in San Antonio the following season, playing in 80 games with 12 starts. He averaged 6.9 points and sank 39.0% of his 3 attempts.
Forbes moved into the starting lineup in 2018-19. He averaged 11.8 points that season and shot 42.6% from downtown. This past season he averaged 11.2 points and made 38.8% of his attempted 3s.
Forbes not only can shoot from deep but he’s also good from the line, where he has a career 80.1% accuracy.
CURRENT CONTRACT
Forbes signed a two-year deal with the Bucks worth $4,791,147, but the second year of the contract is a player option.
PERSONAL
Forbes has two boys, Carter, 7, and Leo, 4.
