Royals re-sign Holland, keeping veteran presence in bullpen
The Kansas City Royals will continue to have a strong veteran presence at the back end of their bullpen in 2021.
Greg Holland, who returned to the Royals in 2020 after being a stalwart in their bullpen from 2010-15, has signed a free agent contract to return next season.
Holland, 35, went 3-0 with six saves and a 1.91 ERA in 28 appearances with the Royals in 2020. Of the right-hander’s 28 appearances, 23 were scoreless.
Holland, 35, has 212 career saves, including 151 with Kansas City, behind only Jeff Montgomery (304), Dan Quisenberry (238) and Joakim Soria (162).
