Wolves lose to Memphis 123-104 in second preseason game
The Minnesota Timberwolves lost a second consecutive preaseason game, falling to Memphis 123-104 on Monday night.
Ja Morant had 17 points, seven rebounds and seven assists to help Memphis run away with the victory.
Jonas Valanciunas scored 22 points for the Grizzlies, who never trailed. Dillon Brooks added 21 points and Kyle Anderson scored 16.
D’Angelo Russell scored 19 points and Karl-Anthony Towns had 14 points and nine rebounds for Minnesota. No. 1 pick Anthony Edwards finished with 12 points but shot 4 for 14.
Veteran Rondae Hollis-Jefferson provided a spark off the bench for the Wolves, scoring 17 points to go along with two blocks and two steals.
As a team, Minnesota shot 27.5% from deep (11 for 40) and 71.9% from the free-throw line (23 of 32).
The Wolves return to action Thursday night when they visit Dallas for their preseason finale. The game tips off at 7:30 p.m. and will be televised on FOX Sports North.
