Bucks rookies Nwora, Merrill assigned to NBA G League

Rookies Jordan Nwora and Sam Merrill are heading to the NBA G League.

The Milwaukee Bucks assigned Nwora to the Salt Lake City Stars and Merrill to the Memphis Hustle on Wednesday. Milwaukee also transferred two-way rookie forward Mamadi Diakite to the Lakeland Magic of the G League.

Nwora, the No. 45 overall pick of the 2020 draft, appeared in 10 games for Milwaukee and is averaging 5.1 points and 1.5 rebounds in 8.2 minutes per game.

Merrill, selected with the 60th (and final) pick of the 2020 draft, played nine contetst for the Bucks and is averaging 1.6 points, 1.1 assists and 1.1 rebounds in 6.1 minutes per game.

Diakite has yet to make his NBA debut.

The players were assigned to different teams since the Wisconsin Herd, Milwaukee’s G League affiliate, opted out of the 2020-21 G League season.
