No. 2 Gophers fall to Wisconsin 8-1

The No. 2-ranked Minnesota Golden Gophers lost to the Wisconsin Badgers 8-1 at 3M Arena at Mariucci on Saturday.

Minnesota (15-5) fell to second place in the Big Ten standings with the loss.

Wisconsin scored in all three periods, while the Gophers’ only goal was scored by Ben Meyers with 5:52 left in the first period.

Minnesota will go on the road for a two-game series against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish next weekend.
