NCAA bracketology roundup: Badgers check in as a No. 4 seed
We are over a week into the month of February and March Madness is closer than ever.
As the college basketball season heats up, FOX Sports Wisconsin rounds up what experts are saying about which seed the Wisconsin Badgers will be assigned in the NCAA tournament. This is the second edition of the 2020-21 bracket roundup.
The No. 21 Wisconsin Badgers are 14-6 (8-5 Big Ten) after beating the Penn State Nittany Lions 72-56 and losing to the No. 6 Illinois Fighting Illini 75-60 in the past week.
So where does that put them in bracketology rankings?
Well, as of Sunday, the Badgers’ season has equated to a No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament, according to Bracket Matrix, a website that tracks bracketology from all corners of the internet.
More Badgers coverage
It seems like a fair spot for the Badgers. Wisconsin’s 14-6 overall record is very good and it helps that it has already added wins over quality opponents like Louisville, Michigan State and Minnesota.
The other teams with the Badgers in the No. 4 slots of Bracket Matrix are the No. 7 Texas Tech Red Raiders, the No. 12 Oklahoma Sooners and the No. 16 Tennessee Volunteers.
Sports Illustrated, ESPN, SB Nation and Stadium all have Wisconsin as a No. 3 seed, while TeamRankings.com was the only notable website to have the Badgers below the four spot at No. 5.
