Get ready for 18 consecutive hours of Tampa Bay Rays programming for Opening Day on FOX Sports Sun
TAMPA, Fla. (March 26, 2019) – As Tampa Bay prepares for the much-anticipated return of Rays baseball, FOX Sports Sun, the exclusive television home of the Rays, is excited to announce its extended coverage of Rays Opening Day on Thursday, March 28. Starting at 10 a.m., fans can tune in on FOX Sports Sun and FOX Sports GO for a whopping 18 consecutive hours of Rays baseball programming.
FOX Sports Sun’s live coverage of Opening Day will start promptly at 3 p.m. with a special, one-hour pregame show from Tropicana Field. A broadcast team of six will provide extensive analysis throughout the day as Rays broadcasters Dewayne Staats, Brian Anderson, Tricia Whitaker, Orestes Destrade, Doug Waechter and Rich Hollenberg prepare to start the season on FOX Sports Sun. As in past years, fans tuning in will enjoy comprehensive coverage of all the pregame festivities on the field, including the traditional introductions of the team and coaching staff.
Opening Day will also showcase the debut of the network’s new set location inside Tropicana Field. Rays Senior Vice President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Erik Neander is scheduled to join the broadcast during the pregame show, while Rays Manager Kevin Cash is scheduled to join the broadcast from the dugout for an interview during the game.
