An eighth-round pick by Minnesota in 2009, Dozier made his MLB debut in 2012 and played seven seasons for the Twins. In 955 career games with Minnesota, Dozier batted .248/.325/.441 with 202 doubles and 167 home runs, the most of any Twins second baseman in franchise history.
Dozier was named an All-Star in 2015. His best season, however, came in 2016 when he mashed a career-high 42 homers and registered a .268/.340/.546 slash line in 155 contests. His 42 homers tied Hall of Fame infielder Rogers Hornsby for the second-highest single-season total by a second baseman in MLB history.
Dozier was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers at the 2018 trade deadline. He appeared in four World Series games for the Dodgers that year and won the 2019 World Series with the Washington Nationals. Dozier appeared in seven contests with the New York Mets last season and tallied two hits and a walk in 16 plate appearances.
The 33-year-old finished his career with 192 home runs and a .244/325/.441 slash line.
