Yelich makes Cactus League debut, Brewers lose 2-1 to A’s
Christian Yelich made his 2021 Cactus League debut Tuesday, but the Milwaukee Brewers fell 2-1 to the Oakland Athletics in a seven-inning exhibition.
Yelich went 1 for 2 on the day, notching a double down the right-field line.

Oakland opened the scoring in the top of the first inning when Tony Kemp scored on a wild pitch by Milwaukee right-hander Josh Lindblom.
The Brewers tied it at 1 with an RBI single by infielder Travis Shaw in the fourth inning, but the A’s had the last laugh Tuesday when Buddy Reed smacked a home run to left field in the seventh.

Seven pitchers saw action for Milwaukee, including reliever Bobby Wahl, who worked a busy third inning. Wahl walked two batters, fanned two and allowed one hit but no runs.
Milwaukee (2-1) returns to the field at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday to battle the San Diego Padres. That game will be televised on FOX Sports Wisconsin.
