Minnesota gained the 38th pick of the fourth round (No. 144 overall) and the 39th selection of the sixth round (No. 223 overall).

Compensatory picks are awarded to teams based on the players they lost and gained in free agency the previous year, with all selections occurring within the third and seventh rounds. The NFL handed out 37 compensatory picks in 2021, although none were in the seventh round.

Minnesota lost defensive backs Mackensie Alexander, Jayron Kearse, Andrew Sendejo and Trae Waynes as well as defensive end Stephen Weatherly to free agency last offseason.

The Vikings are now up to 12 selections across the seven-round draft: No. 14 overall, two third-round picks, four fourth-round picks, two fifth-round picks, two sixth-round picks and one seventh rounder.

The 2021 NFL draft is scheduled to begin April 29.
