Bucks trade Augustin, Wilson to Rockets for Tucker
The Milwaukee Bucks sent D.J. Augustin and D.J. Wilson to Houston in exchange for forwards P.J. Tucker and Rodions Kurucs, the team announced Friday.
Milwaukee also sent its 2021 and 2023 first-round picks to the Rockets and gained Houston’s 2022 first rounder as well as a 2021 second-round selection.
Tucker, the main piece in the trade, is averaging 4.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. The 35-year-old forward shot 36.5% from 3-point range over the last four campaigns for Houston, but it’s down to a 31.4% clip this season.

“Tucker checks all the boxes,” Bucks general manager Jon Horst said in a statement. “He is a great teammate who brings a veteran presence with playoff experience. P.J.’s a versatile, high-IQ defender, and on the offensive end he plays with discipline, is unselfish, and spaces the court with his ability to knock down the three.”
Tucker has received multiple NBA All-Defensive team votes in six of the last seven seasons.
Kurucs, the 40th pick in the 2018 draft, has played 126 games in his career and averages 6.1 points per contest. He appeared in 11 contests for Houston this season, logging 1.2 points in 6.8 minutes per game.
Milwaukee signed Augustin before the 2020-21 campaign. Augustin registered 6.1 points and 3.0 assists in 37 contests, making six starts.
Wilson, the No. 17 pick by Milwaukee in the 2017 draft, averaged 4.0 points and 2.9 rebounds in 11.9 minutes per game this season.
The Bucks return to the floor Saturday night to host the San Antonio Spurs at Fiserv Forum.
