Inching Closer: Cardinals trim roster down to 44 players with regular season around the corner
The Cardinals re-assigned or optioned 10 players after their spring training matchup against the Astros on Saturday.
The team optioned pitchers Seth Elledge and Angel Rondón and catchers Ivan Herrera and Ali Sánchez to minor league camp. Additionally, the team re-assigned pitcher Roel Ramirez, catcher Aaron Antonini, infielders Evan Mendoza and Delvin Pėrez, and outfielders Conner Capel and Scott Hurst.
The Cardinals open their regular season April 1 against the Cincinnati Reds.
