Twins pare down roster to 30, reassign five to minor-league camp
The Minnesota Twins moved closer to setting their opening-day roster Saturday as they reassigned five players to minor-league camp.
Sent down were catcher Tomas Telis, infielders Tzu-Wei Lin and JT Riddle and outfielders Keon Broxton and Rob Refsnyder. All five players were non-roster invites to spring camp.

Broxton had received significant playing time in exhibition games, going 8-for-26 with five runs, five RBI, two doubles and a home run, for a slash line of .308/.400/.500. Riddle also had a number of plate appearances, but he was just 4-for-27 (.148) with a home run.
Lin was 5-for-15 (.333) with three doubles, Refsnyder 4-for-17 (.235) with a triple and Telis 3-for-14 (.214)
The Twins have 30 players left in camp, including two non-roster players — Derek Law and Brandon Waddell – among the 16 remaining pitchers. There are also three catchers, five infielders, five outfielders and designated hitter Nelson Cruz.
Teams must get down to 26 players by opening day. There is no limit on how many pitchers a team may carry.
Minnesota opens it season Thursday, April 1 at Milwaukee. The game will air on the newly renamed Bally Sports North.
