Brewers’ Narvaez putting 2020 season in rearview mirror

Navraez had a rough first season at the plate with Milwaukee. He hit just .176 – 19-for-108 – with two home runs in 40 games a year after belting 22 homers for Seattle while batting .278. Well, perhaps we can put 2020 in the rearview window for the Brewers’ starting catcher. Narvaez played in four of Milwaukee’s first five games and already matched last year’s home run total while collecting seven hits (or 36.8% of his 2020 output) in 14 at-bats. Of course, he won’t sustain a .500 average throughout the season but perhaps there’s less reason to worry about a repeat of .176 territory.

Travis Shaw, Brewers third baseman (⬆️ UP)

The Mayor of Ding Dong City’s second term in Milwaukee is off to a good start. His two-run double in the bottom of the ninth inning against Minnesota tied the game, which the Brewers eventually won in 10 innings. On Tuesday, he delivered another key hit, a three-run homer to break a scoreless tie against Chicago in a 4-0 victory over the Cubs.

Keston Hiura, Brewers first baseman (⬇️ DOWN)

It was a tough opening week for Milwaukee’s new first sacker. Hiura had more errors (1) than hits (0). In four games, he went 0-for-15 with eight strikeouts. The only time he reached base was via hit by pitch. Lean into it, Rudy!

Corbin Burnes, Brewers starting pitcher (⬆️ UP)

Six innings, one hit, no walks, 11 strikeouts. Only one start but 2020 was no fluke.

Jrue Holiday, Bucks guard (⬆️ UP)

Holiday got a big contract extension then went out and averaged 28.0 points (on 63.4% shooting, including 52.2% from 3), 8.0 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals in the past week. That’s one way to make sure there’s no buyer’s remorse.

Aaron Rodgers, Packers quarterback (➡️ EVEN)

As you might have heard, Rodger is hosting Jeopardy and by all accounts is more than acquitting himself in the role. He also said he wouldn’t mind hosting while still playing football (which we’re pretty sure rankles some fans about his commitment). Rodgers also told Pat McAfee his future in Green Bay is not in his control. More angst. It’s just never easy.
