Job Title: Junior Editor, Video & Motion Graphics

Job Description
- This role reports to the Chief Hustler and you will work closely with staff, crew and Producers to complete video projects. You will coordinate all aspects of Editing as needed, from project setup to delivery, and will work on content across all of our platforms and verticals. You may be asked to work on location for time sensitive projects.
- Regular working hours will be 9 a.m until 5.00 p.m, however weekend patterns may be needed on exceptions. An interest in football and sports is a plus, as you will work closely with the team on material for sports.
- This role is a great place to launch a career in advertising and media where you will be challenged to wear multiple hats, liaise with various departments across the organization, and engage with a broad scope of advertisers.
Specific Responsibilities
- Edit image spots, trailers and promos for GECKO FIVE shows, including series trailers, image spots, episodic promos, interstitials and brand spots.
- You will be primarily working to deliver content under 30 mins including original programming as well as cut downs and socials
- Act as a creative voice in the development and creation of all marketing video assets.
- Edit internal and external reels for BALL GECKO and the larger GECKO FIVE Group.
- Collaborate with Creative, Marketing, Programming and Executive teams to package video materials.
- Attend creative kick-off meetings and provide editorial ideas to elevate the creative.
- Handle final deliveries in necessary formats for multiple platform specifications.
- You must be used to working from rushes, making assembly edits and carrying out final notes on long form projects
- As you progress, pots-edit hours may be scheduled for delivery under supervision
Other duties may include:
- Writing voice over/commentary
- Suggesting or selecting music and archive
- Integrating design elements into finished video projects, presentations, web or print materials
Capabilities:
- A strong portfolio/reel of promos, trailers or advertising spots.
- A strong musical ear and talent for cutting to music.
- A strong creative voice.
- High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Flexible and versatile in nature, able to take on challenges while maintaining and a sense of humor.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with Producers.
- Responsible for meeting deadlines set by Producer and/or Creative Director.
- Extremely organized and able to successfully reach multiple deadlines at once, without compromising creative quality.
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe Production Suite software, though you may be required to use other NLEs and plugins.
- Knowledge of After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Photoshop and other motion graphics tools.
- The ability to organise, edit and grade pictures and sound in the NLE to a high level.
- The ability to prepare a sequence for sound mixing in ProTools(or relevant software) and colour grading in Resolve(or relevant software).
- You’ll have a high level of finishing skills including graphic design & integration, colour correction and final delivery skills are required.
- Ensuring edited deliverables pass QC(Quality Control).
- You are able to work independently to weave stories out of given footage.
- You will be skilled at making creative editing decisions based on written scripts or input from producers, supervisors, and execs.- A strong knowledge of file formats and export techniques.
- The ability to identify when supervision and escalation is needed.
Job Requirements

- Candidates should possess Bachelor’s Degree with 1-3 years work experience
- A intermediate: With an internship or other previous team experience under your belt, you’re ready to take on a new and exciting role.
- Technical: You are a master of the Adobe Creative Suite and a critical thinker — with a natural ability to quickly grasp technical concepts.
- Collaborative: You love to brainstorm and work with others, whether you are 1-1 with an art director or rolling your sleeves up with the team, you do your part to contribute to the creation of a killer execution.
- Communicative: As an editor your goal is to communicate a complex set of ideas, visually, in the most simplistic and direct, manner using video. That expertise in communication should be expressed in all of your dealings with team members across the organization.
- Detailed Oriented: You are able to manage multiple projects at once while while maintaining attention to detail with each project.
- A self-starter: always curious and excited to learn with one finger to the pulse of the latest trends in advertising and media.
Salary
N80,000 – N100,000 / Month.
