Job Title: Photo Editor / Retoucher (Photography)

Job Summary

• The Photo Retoucher is a talented professional that will be responsible for editing digital photographs and completing tasks such as editing software, editing compositions, adjusting colours and tones, adding and removing objects, and adding text.
• The photo retoucher should be able to demonstrate an eye for art, creativity, software retouching, time management, and teamwork.

Duties / Responsibilities of Photo Retoucher

• Use photo editing software to enhance images by correcting resolution and composition, crop images and adjusting tone, colour, saturation and brightness
• Review, retouch, and modify photos and make the necessary changes
• Collaborate with the editor and members of the team to identify photography needs.
• Liaise with editors, photographers and advertising reps to improve future projects.
• Modify photos for the highest quality using the appropriate tools
• Ensures adherence to style guide and branding
• Build a portfolio of visual assets
• Manages photography projects
• Procures and manipulates photos and images as needed
• Stay up-to-date with new image editing technologies
• Work under the supervision of the presiding photographer to carry out the required responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in photography, visual arts, digital media or related disciplines.
• Proven expertise in digital photo imaging and photo retouching.
• Proven work experience as a photo retoucher for 2 years and above
• Good understanding of the components of visual art and the elements of photography.
• Must possess a thorough understanding of the digital editing process.
• Certificate in Photography or a Photographic Artist Certificate is an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of Visual Art.
• Technical mastery of software and programs for photo retouching and editing.
• Comprehensive understanding of computer imaging, photography techniques, studio management and colour composition.
• Solid experience with digital technology and software packages for photo editing (e.g. Photoshop, Pixlr, Affinity Photo, Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects and Final Cut).
• Strong photo retouching skills and impressive portfolio.
