Administratively Reports to (ART): Business Director

Job Description

Job Objectives

  • The Business Head’s Job is primarily responsible for profitability of the company. The role is to involve in general management of the Organization but focusing on increasing and driving sales and business for the Company.
  • Responsible for development and execution of Business plan to ensure ROI and profitability objectives are met. To develop existing as well as new markets, trends research analysis and to monitor financial, technological and demographic factors so that market opportunities maybe capitalized and effects of competitive activities may be minimized.
  • As it is a leadership role so it also responsible to ensures a positive culture that promotes team work within the organization and favorable image of the organization.

Job Responsibilities

  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
  • Duties include the following, measurable in terms of time, cost, quality or quantity.

Strategic Responsibility:

  • To oversee the organization’s business development functions including sales, branding or marketing and ensure a consistent and high profile representation of the Organisation in the marketplace.
  • To participate self and encourage team members as well to attend events that add value to relationship building process and ensure that knowledge gained is well shared with rest of the concerned team members.
  • To develop existing as well as new markets, trends research analysis and to monitor financial, technological and demographic factors so that market opportunities maybe capitalized and effects of competitive activities may be minimized.

Day To Day Management:

  • To lead the team members and functions in synchronization to ensure smooth flow of business operations as per defined procedures and methods.
  • To develop business relations with various Key Accounts and grow customer base in and across Nigeria/West Africa.
  • To review the organizational performance against the targets on periodic basis and have periodic meetings with the team members to communicating values, strategies, and objectives; assigning accountabilities; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; developing incentives; developing a climate for offering information and opinions; providing training opportunities.
  • To assess the various information tools, identify business opportunities, scope of new product development and pinpoint bottleneck areas i.e. market threats, competitors initiatives etc. to further increase sales volume, market share and profitability.
  • To communicate with existing as well new suppliers / customers for pricing as well as product development opportunities and new product development.

Leadership:

  • To create and maintain an atmosphere in which employees willingly produce at maximum capacity and to plan and provide opportunity for employee advancement and development.
  • To increases organization’s effectiveness by facilitate recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining team members.

Growth Targets:

  • To ensure Product wise/Business wise Targets are achieved through managing the effective strategy and follow-up to ensure accomplishment of sales operational plans.
  • To support team to develop dealer network in each state as per assigned territory/region and promote them for higher coverage in the assigned state.

Budget:

  • To ensure close monitoring of product group cost and profitability, break even points and share periodic demonstration with team and Management.
  • To Prepare annual budgets, Sales Projections, Profit & Loss & Cash Flow.
  • To monitor stock inventories in alignment with the budget and re-order level for product as well as packaging.

MIS:

  • To prepare all applicable reports in time for accuracy and in order to ensure that they match the functional requirements, policies and standards.

Related Assignment:

  • To perform other related duties or assignment as and when assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in any field
  • MBA / Post Graduate Business Management diploma will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in B2B sales.
  • Preferred but not mandatory, someone handling similar role.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Well versed with basic IT tools – MS Excel, Power-point, Outlook etc.
  • As per the need of the business the job is transferrable and posting can be made anywhere in Nigeria/West Africa.
