The U.S. Mission to Nigeria comprises of the Embassy in Abuja, FCT, and the Consulate General in Lagos. U.S. Consulate General Lagos is the Mission’s representative to the Nigerian people in the southern region.

We are recruiting to fill the position of:

Duties
Basic Function:

  • Incumbent works under the Supply Supervisor as foreman to direct the daily activities of 15 warehousemen and forklift operators and also assists in all areas of warehouse operations.
  • Incumbent assists the Warehouse Supervisor in making recommendations on disposal schedules of warehouses supplies and measures to improve quality of services, increasing work efficiency of the warehouse crew and overall equipment.
  • The position operates a 48 hour a week schedule.

Qualifications and Evaluations
Education Requirements:

  • Completion of secondary school is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of warehousing experience is required.

Job Knowledge:

  • Good working knowledge of standard and associated agency procedures which apply to warehousing is required.

Evaluations:

  • This may be tested. Please specify your level of proficiency in the language listed.

Language:

  • Good working knowledge of English is required.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Attention to details, good planning, and time management skills, and be willing to assume a variety of tasks to keep the warehouse functioning is required.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds, walk or stand for most of the shift, and wear protective gear.
  • Able to operate common hand tools and hand trucks, hand lifts, pallet jacks, dollies, and electric Jack lifts is required.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Self-motivated, provide direction and tasks to warehousemen is required.
  • Must have a valid, current driver’s license.
