Job Description
- We have an immediate vacancy for a Program Officer in our CitizenLab / New Initiatives team. The Program Officer will provide program management, and administrative support to a broad range of activities, often assigned to two or three activities concurrently.
- The role would preferably be based at Orodata’s hub in Lagos Nigeria. You would work closely with the Executive Director and Operations Lead to manage the projects and deliverables.
- We are looking for a candidate who is interested in learning more about this field, promoting ethical practices within digital development, and sharing their knowledge with others.
- The successful candidate will be knowledgeable, adaptable, proactive, self-motivated, and willing to take on new tasks in support of other colleagues. Responsibilities
What you would be required to do:
- Review and manage quantitative data, generate GIS maps, perform data cleaning, and conduct statistical analysis
- Conduct research and document reviews, perform data analysis, conduct key informant interviews, and compose reports
- Provide project management support, including monitoring the budget and assisting with financial reports, managing subcontractors, reviewing deliverables, and developing project work plans
- Coordinate and schedule meetings, track and monitor the status of projects, and copyedit reports or deliverables
- Contribute to technology and system analyses, such as assisting with contextual assessments and SWOT analysis
- Lead and facilitate presentations to share research findings, recommendations, and lessons learned to both internal and external audiences
- Assist with writing DDGT communication pieces, including web copy, corporate capability statements, and press releases, as needed
- Advance the growth of the DDGT practice by working internally and externally to increase awareness of DDGT expertise and knowledge
- Contribute to internal DDGT activities to support DT Global staff members and offices
- Take on specialized tasks based on professional interests and past experience.
- Any other task as assigned.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline.
- Master’s Degree or other advanced degrees in related disciplines would be an added advantage.
- Professional Qualification:
- Professional certification/knowledge of Project management or Agile / Scrum is strongly desired.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both written and verbally, in English
- Ability to take initiative and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines, while maintaining keen attention to detail.
Cognate Experience:
- Sound understanding of computer systems and how personal data is collected, stored and processed.
- Community management and event management
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a related role is required.
Required Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills capable of dealing with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior management, and to exercise strong work ethics.
- The ability to plan, organise and prioritise tasks, and to provide clear advice and direction even when faced with competing demands and short deadlines.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain a high degree of confidentiality, respect, trust and credibility at all levels.
- Strong team player, enthusiastic and positive, with the ability to remain calm, controlled and resilient.
- Sound report writing skills.
- Proven track-record for creative problem-solving in fast-paced impact-driven environments, where solutions involve balancing human/technology considerations
- Demonstrable ability to self-manage and work within strict timelines and milestones, with clear systems/processes
- Evidence of nurturing leadership skills, for building and growing effective and happy teams of ambitious multicultural and multilingual domain experts
- Event management and public speaking to a large and dynamic audience in-person and virtually.
