Robison returns to Vikings, announces retirement

Defensive end Brian Robison is retiring after signing a one-day contract with the Minnesota Vikings.

Robison, 35, spent his entire career with the Vikings, appearing in 173 games (103 starts) from 2007-17, missing just three games in 11 seasons.

A fourth-round pick in 2007, Robison ranks ninth in Vikings history with 60 career sacks, including a career-high nine sacks in 2013.

Robison had 7.5 sacks in 2016, starting all 16 games during the regular season, but began to see his role decrease as fellow defensive end Danielle Hunter, drafted in 2015, continued to develop.

The veteran made 15 appearances in 2017, starting just once, and was released by the Vikings ahead of the 2018 season.
