Taraba Assembly Holds Last Plenary, Remembers Departed Members

A total of 21 suspects have been arrested in connection with the attacks on some communities in Kona and ATC areas of Taraba State.

The suspects according to the Commanding Officer 20 Model Battalion Serti, Taraba State, Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Adamu, says they were arrested in Tudiri community with several dangerous weapons, following a tip off.

According to him, some of the bandits corpses have been recovered and taken to the morgue and at the end of investigations, other suspects found culpable will be handed over to the police for prosecution.

The suspects on the other hand, have admitted to committing the crimes.

Adamu further stated that the abolition of unlawful possession of firearms is still in place, hence the need for all warring factions to desist from such acts.

Meanwhile, the state government has imposed a curfew on Jalingo, the state capital.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Bala Dan Abu, said the curfew would last between 4:00 pm to 6:00 am daily, until further notice.
