Rays new network home makes Tropicana Field debut
Live coverage begins statewide at 2 p.m. with a special hour-long pregame show

TAMPA, Fla. – Bally Sports Sun, the new network home of the Tampa Bay Rays, announce Opening Day broadcast enhancements ahead of the Rays game vs. the New York Yankees on Friday, April 9. Live coverage of Opening Day in Tampa Bay will start at 2 p.m. with a special, one-hour “Rays Live” pregame show from Tropicana Field. A broadcast team of six will provide extensive analysis throughout the day as Rays broadcasters Dewayne Staats, Brian Anderson, Tricia Whitaker, Doug Waechter, Rich Hollenberg and Orestes Destrade get set to cover Tampa Bay’s first home game of the season.
Fans watching will enjoy comprehensive coverage of all the pregame festivities on the field, including the traditional introductions of the team and coaching staff. Viewers will want to tune in early to watch the Rays raise their American League East and American League Champion banners. Additionally, Whitaker will conduct pregame and in-game interviews with Rays players. Finally, digital reporter / host Kailey Mizelle will share an exclusive one-on-one interview with pitcher Ryan Yarbrough on @BallyRays on Twitter and @ballysportsflorida on Instagram.
