Bats quiet as Brewers tie Giants in spring training, 2-2

The Milwaukee Brewers were limited to just six hits as their game against the San Francisco Giants ended in a 2-2 tie on Thursday in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Corey Ray, Milwaukee’s fifth overall pick in the 2016 draft, got the scoring started for the Brewers with an RBI single in the second. Starting pitcher Brett Anderson then knocked home Ray to put Milwaukee up 2-0.

Over 5.2 innings, Anderson allowed five hits and two runs while striking out three. He gave up a 2-run home run to LaMonte Wade Jr. in the fourth inning.

Brent Suter (1.1 innings) and Ray Black (1.0) each recorded a pair of strikeouts in their outings.

Milwaukee is back in action on Friday at 3:10 p.m. CT for a matchup against the Chicago White Sox on FOX Sports Wisconsin.
