Blues, Red Wings to play in next preseason’s Hockeyville game
ST. LOUIS — For the second time in three years, the St. Louis Blues have been selected to participate in the NHL’s annual Kraft Hockeyville USA game.
This year’s preseason game will take place on Thursday, Sept. 26 in Calumet, Michigan, which earned its designation as this year’s most spirited hockey community in America after amassing the most votes in the annual online Kraft Hockeyville USA 2019 contest. Calumet won $150,000 in rink upgrades, $10,000 in equipment from NHLPA Goals & Dreams and the opportunity to host the NHL preseason game.
The Blues will face the Detroit Red Wings, their former Central Division rivals, in this year’s exhibition matchup. They previously faced the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2017 edition of the game, which took place in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania.
