Blues’ Thomas out against Wild with upper-body injury; Hoffman to rejoin lineup

ST. LOUIS — Blues forward Robert Thomas is out week-to-week with an upper-body injury suffered late in the team’s 9-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Friday night, as head coach Craig Berube announced before Saturday night’s rematch with Minnesota.

Thomas missed six weeks earlier this season with a broken thumb. The 21-year-old forward has a goal and seven assists, two of which came in Friday night’s victory, in 21 games this year.

With Thomas out, winger Mike Hoffman will draw back into the lineup for the first time since Monday. Hoffman, 31, has been a healthy scratch for two straight games and three of the Blues’ last six. The veteran forward, who signed with the Blues shortly before the shortened 56-game season began, has nine goals and 12 assists in 36 games this season.
