Brand Manager – Merchant Acquiring at Nomba (Formerly Kudi)

Nomba – Launched in 2017 as “Kudi.ai”, a chatbot that responds to financial requests on social apps, Nomba spent its first five years  empowering independent businesses to act as neighborhood banks offering basic financial services such as cash withdrawal, transfer and bill payments to all Nigerians, especially those in underserved communities. We currently process more than $500m in payments monthly.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Brand Manager – Merchant Acquiring

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Position

  • Translate brand elements into plans and go-to-market strategies
  • Drive all Merchant acquisition campaigns
  • Create a merchant acquisition strategy for the merchant acquisition business across all geographical regions in Nigeria
  • Partner with related business functions like the sales, product, support and business teams to gather business requirements to drive marketing initiatives
  • Lead creative development to motivate the target audience to “take action”
  • Measure and report performance of all marketing campaigns, and assess ROI and KPIs
  • Analyze competition and consumer insights
  • Own the development and messaging of the brand narrative
  • Define and manage the brand communication strategy using a variety of media
  • Identify research needs, execute research studies and projects, and analyze research in order to identify opportunities
  • Organize and coordinate Merchant acquisition events and activations across all states
  • Devise innovative growth strategies to position nomba as a market leader

About You

  • A BA / BSc Degree from a leading academic institution – other advanced degrees is a plus.
  • 4 – 6 years proven work experience as a brand manager  in a Fintech or FMCG Industry
  • Project management experience, with a solid understanding of project management principles and techniques
  • Strategic thinker able to identify long-term opportunities and trends
  • Proven ability to develop brand and marketing strategies and communicate recommendations to executives
  • Experience in identifying target audiences and devising effective campaigns
  • Experience in brand management, brand marketing, or marketing strategy
