Brewers designate Brock Holt for assignment, call up Jace Peterson
The Milwaukee Brewers designated utility man Brock Holt for assignment on Saturday. To take his place on the roster, Milwaukee selected the contract of Jace Peterson.

The Brewers signed Holt to a one-year deal in free agency with a club option for 2021. But Holt, who logged a .297/.369/.402 slash line with Boston last season and was named an All-Star in 2015, never found his swing in Milwaukee. In 16 games with the Brewers, Holt collected just three hits in 30 at-bats with nine strikeouts, four walks and one run scored, adding up to a .100/.222/.100 slash line.
Like Holt, Peterson can play all over the field. In six MLB seasons, Peterson has played at second base (283 games), left field (81), third base (70), right field (19), first base (7) and shortstop (7). The Brewers signed Peterson to a minor-league deal in the offseason.
