Brewers feast in eighth to beat D-backs 9-3

Arizona’s wheels fell off its wagon in the bottom-half of the eighth on Friday, gift-wrapping Milwaukee a seven-run inning en route to the club’s 9-3 victory.

The Brewers fell behind fast, surrendering a three-run shot in the first frame, but bounced back with authority as righty Adrian Houser found his groove on the hill.

Leadoff hitter Kolten Wong homered for the second time this week and outfielder Billy McKinney, vying for a roster spot, drove in four runs in his two at-bats, first going yard in the sixth and then again in the eighth — McKinney now has four homers this spring.

Milwaukee’s bullpen was magnificent, not allowing a single hit aside from the six given up by Houser. J.P. Feyereisen continued his stretch of dominance in the Cactus League, raising his spring training totals to zero hits, two walks and 11 Ks in 6.2 innings of action.

Intimidating 6-foot-8 Brewers closer Angel Perdomo entered in the top of ninth and retired the side, striking out three consecutive batters.

Milwaukee’s win boosts its record to (9-8-1). The club faces Cincinnati on Saturday at 8:05 p.m.
