Brewers’ Hernan Perez makes the best of a 16-run deficit
Nelson has been on the shelf since blowing out his shoulder while diving back to first base in September 2017. He returns to the mound Wednesday night on his 30th birthday, with the Brewers looking to avenge that big loss to the Marlins. He looked solid during five appearances with Triple-A San Antonio, allowing just three hits and no earned runs in five innings during his final minor-league appearance. A healthy Nelson should help stabilize a Brewers rotation that’s looking a little thin past Zach Davies and Brandon Woodruff, particularly with late signing Gio Gonzalez on the injured list.
