Brewers hit three home runs in 13-7 win over Giants

Facing a four-run deficit in the fourth, Milwaukee stormed back to defeat San Francisco 13-7 in nine innings of action on Tuesday — the Brewers knotted the score at six apiece in the bottom of the sixth and kept rolling.

An ugly start on the mound for Milwaukee fortunately was overshadowed by a barrage of home runs off the bats of Omar Narváez, Avisaíl García and 2018 NL MVP Christian Yelich. Notably, it was Yelich’s first bomb in the Cactus League this spring.

Plenty of other Brewers players got in on the afternoon’s spectacle from the plate.

Shortstop Kolten Wong smacked a double from his leadoff spot. 2020 first-round pick Garrett Mitchell drove in the game’s tying run, and first baseman Zach Green went two-for-two, filling in for Daniel Vogelbach.

Milwaukee’s efforts on the mound weren’t nearly as effective. Righty Adrian Houser paced the game with four strikeouts, but surrendered three hits and two runs in 1.2 innings pitched. Eric Lauer failed to find any kind of rhythm, walking five and giving up three runs in two rolled innings.

The win lifts the Brewers to 6-3 in spring training. The club’s next contest is set for Wednesday against the Oakland Athletics at 2:05 p.m. On Thursday, Milwaukee will be back on FOX Sports Wisconsin against Kansas City.
